With Love, From Carnegie Hall
Joyfully performing Aufschwung Fantasiestucke, Op. 12—f minor by Robert Schumann
Reflections from My First Winner’s Concert Trip to New York City
They say if you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere—but I don’t think anything could’ve prepared me for the energy, noise, beauty, and speed of the city that never sleeps.
My first trip to New York City was unforgettable. From the blaring honks (I’m still wondering if they’re part of the city’s rhythm!) to the sparkling lights, street performers, and impossibly fast walkers—I soaked it all in, wide-eyed and full of excitement. The people were direct, yes—but also kind and curious. A few even offered warm encouragement when they learned I was there to perform.
But most of all, what made this trip so meaningful was the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall as part of the Winner’s Concert. Just writing that still feels surreal. To share the stage where so many greats have played—knowing the hard work and prayer it took to get there—was an honor I’ll never forget.
Even more special? Having my family there with me. Their support gave me peace and strength amid all the nerves and excitement. It reminded me that every step of this journey is a gift from God—and I don’t take a single note for granted.
This is just the beginning.
Next stop: Vienna this June—another once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I’m deeply humbled by. After that, I’ll be attending an intensive music festival this July—more on that another time. I’m excited to continue growing as both a performer and composer.
Thank you for following my journey, and to everyone who has prayed, encouraged, listened, and supported me so far, I am immensely grateful. I can’t wait to share more “grace notes” with you in the days ahead.
🎶 With love + gratitude,
Grace
