A Night to Remember:

Laughter, L’Orage, and Love in New York City

By Grace Jordan

Preparing to Share My Music

I don’t even know where to begin… I’m still floating!

Last Friday, I had the incredible honor of sharing music at Opera America’s National Opera Center—right in the heart of New York City, just steps from the famed Lincoln Center. From the moment I stepped onto the stage, I could feel the energy in the room: electric, joyful, and full of love. Every face, every smile, every pair of listening ears meant the world to me. I truly couldn’t be more thankful!

One of My Biggest Champions

Among the guests were cherished family members, longtime friends, and incredibly supportive patrons—some of whom traveled from across the country just to be there. One especially meaningful moment was captured in a hug with my Mima, one of my greatest champions. 📸

Embracing My Mima

Another moment that warmed my heart? A sweet exchange with a young aspiring pianist, to whom I gifted one of my signature Grace Notes cookies. 📸

Chatting with an Aspiring Young Artist

The program included both classical masterpieces and sacred favorites—and while I poured my heart into every note, the music came alive because of the radiant spirit in the room. My final piece, Mozart’s Fantasia, was met with a standing ovation. But it wasn’t just about the music itself—it was about the connection that music creates.

It Was All About the Audience

From the enthusiastic applause to the warm conversations after the concert, I was reminded that music is about people. About connection. About joy. The laughter in the lobby, the hugs exchanged in the hallway, and the wide-eyed excitement on the faces of little ones in their party dresses and bow ties—those were the moments that made the evening unforgettable.

One of the most special memories of the night was walking hand-in-hand, joyfully skipping with my youngest cousin in attendance, Sophie (an official Petit Virtuoso!), and chatting with a young pianist about his dreams. Those interactions were just as meaningful to me as anything I played onstage. 📸

And speaking of favorite moments…

When the Kids Stole the Show

During L’Orage (“The Storm”), several of the youngest guests joined me at the piano. Their laughter and curiosity completely filled the space—and my heart. They giggled, leaned in, and watched with wonder as the music swirled around them. Honestly? They stole the show. 📸

Music Is Meant to Be Shared

This evening reminded me exactly why I love what I do. Music isn’t just something we hear—it’s something we share. And sharing it with you made this one of the most joyful, unforgettable nights of my life.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I’ll carry this evening with me for a very long time.

With love + gratitude,
Grace 🩷🎶
